how to make Shimmer body oil. Satin skin feel

Shimmer body oil is quite a luxurioius treat for your skin

I shared the formulas for Cleopatra's Night Shimmer Body Oil on my Patreon a few weeks ago and I finally have time to write a post about this beautiful product with my blog readers.

I made two versions of the product: one a little thinner and the second quite thick, oil gel-type body treat. The one that I am sharing today is the thicker, richer formula with great slip and spreadability, leaving your skin feeling moisturized, shiny, and pampered.

I made a 20g batch and I'm in an! This oil has a texture similar to an oil gel and who doesn't fancy an oil gel?

Let's take a look at the formulation

Cleopatra's Night Shimmer Body Oil

A 30.00% Camellia Oil

A 19.00% Isoamyl laurate (could be substituted with a very light ester or emollient)

A 10.00% Cetiol RLF (Caprylyl-Caprylate/Caprate)

A 8.00% Jojoba Oil

A 6.50% ISOPROPYL MYRISTATE (could be substituted with a very light ester)

A 5.00% Dermofeel Viscolid

A 4.00% Dimethicone (Lux Glide is a possible natural substitution)

A 4.00% Rose Hip Seed Oil (you can use a different oil)

A 3.00% Karanj Seed Oil (any oil of your choice would do)

A 2.50% MICA POWDER - LIQUID GOLD

A 2.00% Maisita Corn PO4 PHB (you can use more silica microspheres or use cornstarch)

A 2.00% MICA POWDER - VANILLA ICE CREAM

B 1.00% Silica Microspheres

B 2.00% Fragrance oil

B 1.00% Vitamin E

⚠️If you don't have Isoamyl laurate and use a different emollient instead PLEASE reduce the amount of Dermofeel Viscolid because your oil gel will get too thick unless you prefer that texture.

If you want to make a smaller or a bigger batch go to the Batch Calculator and type in your formula and the batch you want to make.

INSTRUCTIONS

Procedure

1. In a beaker, combine the A phase, and melt it in a double boiler on medium heat.

2. Take the beaker off the heat and stick blend for 1 minute to help Dermofeel Viscolid work properly.

3. Let cool down to 40C and add the B phase. Stir to combine.

🍃It is crucial to completely melt Dermofeel Viscolid (70C). Adding mica and mattifying powders to the oil phase ensures proper incorporation and even distribution throughout the product.

🍃Hot plate or double boiler - medium settings/stir occasionally.

🍃After taking the oil off the heat use an immersion blender/stick blender until the product reaches 40C.

🍃Add the cool-down phase ingredients and stir to combine after each addition to secure proper incorporation.

🍃 Let it cool down to room temperature. Stir occasionally.

💡by adding more micas you get a shinier product. I didn’t use much mica, and the result was good for me. If you prefer a more luminous effect make sure to increase the % of mica used in the formulation.
