Whipped Marshmallow Creamy Soap

I love everything about this product: its texture, creaminess, softness, moisturizing effect, and it smells divine! As a bonus, it's very easy to make. You can use it as a body wash or as shaving soap. Moreover, just a little amount of this product goes a long way! It goes and goes, and foams and foams and bubbles and I can't get enough of it!

You will need a hand mixer or a stand mixer, a spatula, and some plastic jars for packaging your beautiful whip. If you want your foaming whipped soap to look like a real butter frosting then you might want to get some piping bags and a large piping tip.

As far as the ingredients go everything is pretty minimalistic:

- Foaming Bath Whip aka Foaming Bath Batter (you can buy it ready or make it from scratch)
- cocoa butter
- fragrance oil or essential oil
- colorant
- Kaolin Clay (optional, I love it for its skin conditioning properties but you don't have to use it)

You can make so many different designs and projects with my recipe. You can tweak it to your liking, and add some herbal powders and botanical extracts for an extra luxurious boost but the recipe itself is pretty much fail-proof.

Why did I choose cocoa butter instead of a liquid carrier oil?

Cocoa butter is a very hard, brittle butter so it helps with the texture of your final product. Sometimes you can accidentally overwhip your foaming bath batter and then it deflates. Cocoa butter to the rescue! As an alternative, you could try mango, kokum, or shea butter. They are all great choices not only because of their hardness but also because of the amazing silky softy touch and slide they give to your final product.

Why did I include Kaolin Clay in my Creamy Soap Formulation?

Kaolin Clay adds a nice slide and slip to your product and is well known for its cleansing and pore tightening properties. You can even make whipped face wash with my formula, its pH is perfect for the skin (5-5.5 pH). I would recommend reducing the fragrance to 0.5% or use 0.25-0.5% skin-safe, non-irritating, non-sensitizing essential oils instead. I will include a formula for a facial wash at the end of the post. You can also use Pink Clay or French Green Clay in this recipe.

To make a 1000g Batch

940g		Foaming Bath Whip
20g		cocoa butter
10g		kaolin clay
20g		Fragrance
10g		Preservative Euxyl PE9010 or OptiphenPlus

To make a 500g Batch

470g		Foaming Bath Whip
10g		cocoa butter
5g		kaolin clay
10g		Fragrance
5g		Preservative Euxyl PE9010 or OptiphenPlus

Instructions

Weigh and melt your cocoa butter.

2. In a large mixing bowl weigh your foaming batter base.

3. Start whipping your base until softens and gets airier. It should take 1-2 minutes at medium-high speed. If you make a small batch then it should take about 1 minute or less. For a larger batch 2 minutes, maybe a little longer.

4. Stop mixing. Scrape you bowl with a spatula. Add Kaolin Clay and mix it into your batter so once you start whippin the powder doesn't escpape. Continue whipping for 20-30 seconds and up to a minute.

5. Now slowly add your melted cocoa butter and fragrance oil. Continue whipping until your mixture has almost doubled in size. Be careful and don't overwhipe it! It should be thick and creamy like a real buttercream frosting and hold its shape perfectly.

6. Now you can add your preservative. Make sure it's well incorporated. Stir in your colorant. You can choose micas, lake powders, water-soluble dyes. I went for Hot Pink M i ca from auroradyz (UK) and Red Amaranth Water Soluble Dye. I mixed a small amount of dye with 1ml hot water and then added it to my batter. Again, don't overwhip it because it will deflate later!

7. Line your working area with plastic wrap and scoop your whipped soap batter onto the plastic wrap. Make a roll and cut one side of the roll with scissors. Place it into your piping bag and start piping into your jars. Tap to release extra air. You can make all kinds of beautiful designs.
